This was very popular, but you will need a good vacuum cleaner to hoover up that sand!
What you need:
- play sand
- thick paper or thin card in a summery bright colour
- coloured paper
- felt tip pen
- PVA glue and glue spreader
- pots for the sand
- newspaper (to put the pictures on, so sand can be poured back into the pots)
Preparation:
- Draw bold castle outline
- Cut out flag shapes out of the coloured paper
- Put small amount of sand in pots
Some older children were happy to draw their own sandcastles- or you could prepare some templates. I used play sand rather than and from the beach, as I thought it would be cleaner. You can get brightly coloured sand, which would work brilliantly.
